Social media add-on
Social media for trades and local services. Posts that sound like you.
Most local businesses don’t need a viral content strategy. They need a consistent, on-brand presence that keeps the business visible between jobs. The kind of social media that shows up reliably, sounds like a real person, and ties back to the actual work you do.
Every retainer already has a basic social anchorone Google Business Profile post per week, same on Core and Growth. It feeds the local signal that drives your maps ranking and gives customers something to see when they click your listing. This page is about the full multi-channel management add-on for when you want Facebook + Instagram (and optionally LinkedIn) on a real content calendar, personally written, personally reviewed.
The add-on is £100–£200/mo and is sold alongside an existing Core or Growth retainer. I won't sell it standalone to trades I've never worked with. It pairs naturally with the local SEO retainer and assumes the technical base (GBP, citations, reviews, schema markup) is already in place. If you have unresolved technical debt on your site, the Technical SEO Foundation is the natural precursor.
The two-tier social model
What's already in your retainer vs what the add-on unlocks
Every Core + Growth retainer
Basic social anchor, included
- One Google Business Profile post per week (the local SEO anchor)
- Personally written, personally reviewed before publish
- Visible on the calendar in your dashboard
- Counts toward the GBP posts-per-month commitment (6-8 on Core, 10-12 on Growth)
This alone handles most of the local pack work. Most trades are fine without paying for the full add-on.
Add-on (£100-200/mo)
Full multi-channel management
- Facebook + Instagram posts at 6-8/week (a real cadence, not a trickle)
- LinkedIn where it makes sense for your trade
- Engagement: comments, DMs triaged in founder-business hours
- Stories + Reels from supplied video clips (or quote for a small on-site shoot)
- Monthly metrics that actually mean something (reach, engagement, attributable clicks)
- Quarterly strategy check-in: what's working, what isn't, what to adjust
Add-on to a Core or Growth retainer. Cancels any time.

How I work
A repeatable cadence, personally written and reviewed
The honest framing of social media for a local business: it should sound like a real person, not a content calendar. The work I do is write every post in your voice, fact-check every claim against what’s actually happening in your business this week, edit for tone, and refuse to ship anything that reads like generic filler.
- Brand voice workshop. A short kickoff call to understand your tone, your audience, and what you’ll never want to see on your feed.
- Content calendar. Monthly outline of themes, campaigns, and recurring post types. You see it before any posts go live.
- Draft → review → schedule. I write → I refine → you get a 24-hour preview window → posts go live.
- Report + adjust. Monthly report ties back to the goals I set with you, with concrete adjustments for next month.
Pricing
£100–£200 / month
Standard plan lands at the lower end; heavier plans with reels production and multi-platform management land higher. The Growth Tier (SEO + Social bundled at a discount, from £697/month combined) is the most cost-effective option if you want both.
Add-on only by design: standalone social-media clients need their own setup; pairing with SEO or a recent build is where the cost-per-result numbers actually work.
Common questions
Social media, honestly answered
Facebook and Instagram as standard, plus Google Business Profile posts (which feed into local SEO and show up in the GBP panel). TikTok is available on request for clients where it makes sense. Most local trades aren’t there yet, so the ROI is usually lower.
The standard plan is 6–8 posts per week across Facebook + Instagram, plus 1 GBP post per week (Growth Tier lifts this to 10–12 GBP posts per month plus the social cadence). Every post is personally written, then personally reviewed by me before anything goes live. You see the full calendar in your dashboard and can pause any post up to 24 hours before it goes out.
Yes. Basic graphics in your brand style. For more design-heavy content (reels, video, photography), I either use your existing assets or quote you a small photography session at fair rates. I don’t bill design time at a premium. It’s part of the package.
I write every post myself. That keeps the cadence consistent and the tone unmistakably yours. Every single draft then gets a personal review from me (tone, accuracy, brand voice, current relevance) before it’s scheduled. Nothing goes live unreviewed. You can see the working process in your dashboard.
Yes. The standard workflow is: drafts → my review and refinement → you get a 24-hour pre-schedule preview window in your dashboard → posts go live on schedule unless you’ve paused one. This gives you veto power without slowing down cadence.
Real business metrics, not vanity ones: reach, engagement, clicks, follower growth, and any trackable conversions (link clicks, contact form submissions attributed to the channel). The monthly report ties this back to the goals I set with you in the kickoff. Calls, bookings, foot traffic where possible.
Then you don’t need this. I’d rather tell you that than take your money. Social is an add-on for existing Core or Website Build clients; standalone sign-ups are accepted when there’s a clear case.
Not currently. Facebook and Instagram ads are a different specialism, and the ROI depends heavily on creative quality and offer. I’d rather refer you to a partner who does this full-time than offer you a half-baked version.
