Case studies
This section ships honest rather than backfilled with placeholder testimonials. The plan has always been that the first 2-3 clients get a discounted fee in exchange for a real, documented case study. And that those case studies only get published here once the work is genuinely done, not before.
What you will see when the first studies land:
In the meantime, the best way to understand what the work actually delivers on day-to-day is the local SEO retainer page, the Technical SEO Foundation scope, or a direct conversation about your specific situation.
- The client's trade and service area (real, not anonymous beyond permission)
- The starting position. What their local pack ranking, traffic, and reviews looked like at kickoff
- What was done in the first 90 days, in plain language
- What moved, what did not, and why. No cherry-picked vanity metrics
- The client's own quote about the experience (with permission)
In the meantime, the best way to understand what working with me looks like is the process page, or a direct conversation.
What an active client dashboard looks like
I deliberately do not publish fake testimonials or invented numbers here. The first client gets a discounted fee specifically in exchange for a real, documented case study. The four cards below are representative figures - typical values for what a 3-month-in client sees, not a single client's actual numbers. Each card lists the data point and what gets logged in the dashboard when that data point moves.
Rankings
~3 keywords ranked top 10. 2 climbing. 1 stable.
Real positions over a 12-month rolling window. Volatility index shows whether the niche is quiet this week or churning after an algorithm update.
Local and GBP
Maps 3-pack position for the head term.
Top-competitor analysis showing review-count and rating gap. Action plan: review response + GBP posts that earn reviews + citation cleanup if NAP inconsistency shows.
Site health
Lighthouse: Perf / SEO / A11y / BP all 90+.
Open issues list with severity. Audit log shows every fix the founder has applied and the date. New issues flagged within 48 hours of detection.
What I have done
3-5 actions per week. Visible to you.
Written in plain English: "Responded to 3 Google reviews." "Added 2 internal links." "Submitted to 3 directories." Real work, real numbers, every week.
This is the proof mechanism. You see the dashboard with real numbers, you see the work in real time, you see the results as they happen. When the first full case study lands, it goes here with all four numbers, the work that got there, and the founder's own commentary on what worked.

Frequently asked questions
- Why does this page exist if you only have a few case studies?
- Because the work is real and the absence of a case study page is a trust signal in the wrong direction. The first 2–3 clients get a discounted fee specifically in exchange for documented results — that is the deal. So the page is sparse on purpose while the early-client cohort fills it. Once we have 8–10 real case studies, the page is the most honest marketing asset on the site.
- Will my case study be anonymised?
- Yes by default. The case study shows the trade type, location tier (city / town), the metric that moved, and the timeframe — but not the business name unless you specifically ask for it. Most clients prefer anonymised case studies because they are negotiating positioning that they do not want competitors to read in detail. If you want a named case study (and the marketing lift that comes with it), that is part of the discounted-fee arrangement.
- What kind of metrics do the case studies cover?
- Three primary metrics, in priority order: (1) qualified leads per month from the local channel (calls + form submissions + direction requests attributable to GBP). (2) Local-pack ranking movement on the 5–10 commercial queries we agreed to track. (3) Revenue attribution from organic search, where the analytics stack supports it. Vanity metrics — domain rating, raw traffic, "impressions" — are reported separately and not used as evidence of value.
- How long does a case study take to produce?
- Minimum 4 months of data before any claims. The first case study will likely be 6–9 months in because we want enough data to be honest about what worked and what did not. Premature case studies are a form of lying-to-customers — the kind of marketing we are explicitly trying to not do.
- Why the discounted fee for case studies?
- Because I am asking you to do something most clients will not — publish real results, including the parts that did not work. That is worth something to me (proof-of-work is the single hardest asset for a new agency to build) and so I am willing to discount the fee to compensate for that risk. The discount is typically 15–25%, depending on the case-study depth you agree to.
